- Un-latch security chain on flip over chute
- Put flip over chute in down or open position
- Dis-engage Manual chute lock
- Unlatch security cable holding chutes and secure to loop

- Survey ground conditions looking for slick, Wet conditions
- Keep both hands to one side of chute use pinch protector
- Stand to one side of the chute

- Slip, Trip, Fall
- Pinch fingers, from caught between chutes
- Struck by flip over if not controlled

- Keep spring mechanism lubricated.
- Raise chute
- Disengage air lock
- Grasp from handle and pull down firmly.

- Pinch finger, From locking mechanism
- Struck by chute when ducking under
- Muscle strain, from awkwardly pulling down
Safe Work Practice Description
- Keep fingers away from safety hook latch
- Inspect cable for defects in cable and hook
- Keep cable off ground

- Can splinter hand from worn cable cover
